We've added the Roof Bag brand of soft roof top carrier pouches as a replacement to the recently-retired Kanga Storm / Typhoon product which we carried for several years. The RoofBag product has the same weight material, can be installed on either roof racks or on cars without a rack, has similar construction and water resistance, and has a similar durability in Family on Board's testing. One major difference is the added safety of a strap which extends over the top of the bag, reducing stress on the corner straps. This strap can be installed front to back or side to side, depending on where your roof rack bars are located, and from side to side only on door hook applications. In addition, RoofBag has extended the factory warranty to 2 years, and added a zipper lock. |

The door hook is installed by threading the door hook webbing through a buckle on each corner of the pouch. After opening the door, the door hook is placed on the door frame and/or piping around the door. The door is closed over the hook, then the hook is cinched tightly but not overtightened. If the hooks are not a fit for your vehicle, your last option is strapping around the roof, through the body and up to the buckles using these 1 inch web straps. Choose a pouch sized accordingly (browse our fit list for ideas) for your roof size and likely strap placement. Note that some air / water leaks can occur where the strap compresses your door's weatherstripping. Properly sized to fit Kanga and Roofbag buckles. |
